The Patent Office, Newport
BRIEF:
To assist the Patent Office in the design and development of a web based application that
allows inventors to apply for Patents online and to develop a back office application to allow Patent Office
staff to process the applications.
Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (Johnson & Johnsonn), Cardiff
BRIEF:
To assist in the design and development of software components that will be used to produce and send/receive schedules
of samples to and from their in-vitro diagnostic analyzer machines that are used to test human samples for a variety of
diseases and conditions.
We also designed a development architecture and set of coding standards for the internal development team to build on.
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Swindon
BRIEF:
To assist in the development of the main website, in particular the �grants on the web� section that provides a
detailed list of all research grants grants currently issued by the British government.
Education and Learning Authority for Wales (ELWa) - part of the Welsh Assembly
BRIEF:
To work on the design and development of a web based financial application to allow ELWa to request and process
European funding to help recoup some of the cost given to Welsh citizens in the form of training grants.
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Swindon
BRIEF:
To assist in the development of a large web application and back office system that enables academics to apply
online for Research Grants and then assists the internal administrators to process the requests.
Education and Learning Authority for Wales (ELWa) - part of the Welsh Assembly
BRIEF:
To turn an overly complicated and erroneous web application into a fully functional and easy to maintain system
to provide ELWA with the confidence of meeting a tight deadline. The application was eventually launched successfully
and on time. We also provided basic training and mentoring to the internal development team.
Zurich Financial Services, Cheltenham
BRIEF:
To assist in the development of a motor ratings analysis tool. The tool is used to provide accurate insurance quotations for
Zurich�s motor fleet customers. Our primary task was to develop the main costing modules of the system.
confused.com (Admiral Insurance), Cardiff
BRIEF:
To design and develop a robust and scalable architecture on which all the back office processing components could be built.
We also designed and developed the majority of the back office business components that are used to provide Confused.com�s
customers with the competitive quotations. We also provided basic training and mentoring to the internal development team.
JPM International, Cardiff
BRIEF:
To design and develop a fully functional business intelligence system. The system is used by JPM to track their major competitor�s
products to allow them to perform �like for like� comparisons.
Admiral Insurance, Cardiff
BRIEF:
To assist in the integration of a third party workflow application with an existing legacy system. Our task was to develop interfaces
that would allow the third party application to communicate with the legacy systems.
Identex, Bristol
BRIEF:
To design and develop a web marketing application that would allow Identex�s customers to generate marketing lists online
and then download the results as XML to use in their own internal applications.
Devon County Council, Exeter
BRIEF:
To design and develop a web portal that provided information and support to carers in the community.
The portal now has over 1000 active members.
Securicor Information Systems, Chippenham
BRIEF:
To assist in the development and debugging of a police custody application known as NSPIS. The application
was eventually rolled out to every police force in the country.
The Automobile Association, Cardiff
BRIEF:
To assist in the design and development of an employee performance monitoring system. The system eventually
went live and was used to monitor the performance of some 10,000+ patrol staff.
